Dehumidifier

Why Is A Dehumidifier Necessary For Your Home?

During summer months, the intensity of humidity increases. Sometimes, it becomes extremely difficult to sit in your home or work place due to humidity. A dehumidifier is an instrument that is employed to decrease the excessive moisture present in the surroundings or in the atmosphere.

A dehumidifier works as a great solution to the problems of those suffering from various allergies or asthma. There are several other health hazards that may be caused by nothing else but excessive exposure to moisture. Rotting, growth of microorganisms and mold growth are some of the most common problems. Furthermore, an increased level of humidity may lead to proliferation of dust mites at home. This can cause irritation in the nasal passage of a person. People who are already a victim of any kind of health problem will be even more affected by these dangers.

Hydrometer is an instrument that can be used to determine the amount of moisture in the air. Usually, people prefer to have humidity of either 50% or even less than that. In case, you notice any condensation on window panes or if any one feels any kind of respiratory problems, it is advisable to lower the moisture level. A 30% moisture level can be considered better in such a case.

There are various kinds of dehumidifiers that are available in the market. The more the amount of moisture, the larger should be the dehumidifier. At times, people do need to use more than one dehumidifier. The ones that have two fans with great speed are better, as they are more power-efficient and do not create much noise. Most of them have an inbuilt bucket to empty the accumulated moisture inside, while others are needed to be positioned near a drain. For better results and effectiveness, it is important to clean the filters at least once in two weeks. Otherwise, it may not give the desired results. All of them may have different instructions that have to be followed.

There are three basic things you need to know about a dehumidifier:

- It makes use of chemical absorbents or a heat pump that reduces the moisture in the atmosphere without lowering its temperature.

- A dehumidifier with a heat pump lessens heat loss from the fan motors and compressors into the atmosphere. The heat generated by the dehumidifier is returned to the air inside that turns the water vapor into liquid.

- A fan is employed by the heat pump dehumidifier that draws the air inside above a heat exchange coil. This coil has a very low temperature. The water contained in the air gets condensed as it comes in contact with the coil and is then drained. The next heat exchange coil heats the air again, which is then exhausted by the dehumidifier in the room.

So, sometimes a dehumidifier can also be a solution to your health problems or the cracking of furniture. Hence, one should buy the furniture only when you have come across its all advantages as well as disadvantages.
